If you work in the food industry, you must be FSSAI registered. A Food License is required if you are involved in processing, manufacturing, packaging, distribution, or retailing. It is provided by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), which regulates food enterprises in accordance with the FSSAI Act of 2006.

Renewal Procedure

An FSSAI license is valid for one to five years and can be renewed before expiration. Any individual or organization with a Food license may apply for a license renewal by submitting an application no later than 30 days before their license expires.The renewal procedure is comparable to the application process, and the same documents are required. Any FSSAI renewal application received after the expiration date is subject to a $100 late fee per day. If the food license expires, the Food Business Operator must halt all activities at the location.
